An ancient and extraordinary material. The emblem, for thousands of years, of the magical land where it hails from: Salento, in Southern Italy, a place embraced by the sea and speckled with olive groves. Lecce stone is the building material of the palaces that have made Salentine Baroque so unique, as well as of many decorations of local houses. A tradition that Mele Stone, a company located in Cursi, near Lecce, has passionately continued. Since 1896, four generations of quarriers have been extracting this white treasure. And since 2017, they have been transforming it in lamps with a contemporary and attractive design. The quarry where the stone is extracted is not consistent, and the stone will tell a different tale according to where it is sourced. Focus on design and respect for craftsmanship ensures unique products and guarantees that the value of this docile stone is enhanced. The latest Mele Stone collection is inspired by the moon and its fascinating sphere, interpreted in all its facets.
